Enrich receives 2020 Financial Education Champion Award.
For the second consecutive year, Enrich has received the Financial Education Champion Award 2020 for our financial and empowerment education programmes for migrant domestic workers!
Presented by the Investor and Financial Education Council (IFEC), the award recognises the efforts and significant contributions of organisations to advance financial education and improve financial literacy across Hong Kong, in accordance with the Financial Literacy Strategy.
Accepting the award for Enrich, our Executive Director, Lucinda Pike, says:
"The Enrich team is honoured to receive this prestigious recognition and to be among an impressive list of organisations and companies working towards financial literacy in Hong Kong. Migrant domestic workers are an essential part of our society, contributing HK$98.9 billion to the economy in 2018, but they continue to face financial challenges. Financial education is a life-changing solution and we are encouraged that this importance has been recognised as part of Hong Kong's Financial Literacy Strategy."
The IFEC has supported Enrich's work through several projects over the last few years, including:
- the 2017 impact evaluation of our programmes by Chinese University of Hong Kong
- our 2018 leaflet for employers - '10 tips to protect your helper and yourself' (English / Chinese)
- our 2019 flyer for migrant domestic workers, 'How to save money like Maria'. (English / Bahasa)
We are grateful to the IFEC for this award and look forward to continue collaborating with them to empower our domestic workers with tools to escape debt, plan for their future and achieve their goals.
