Good afternoon, Magandang hapon, Selamat Sore! Our Executive Director, Lucinda Pike, takes a moment to address Hong Kong's migrant domestic workers who are currently playing a key role by providing essential care. WATCH Lucinda's video message to domestic workers.
The world has changed very quickly since the start of the year with the COVID-19 global pandemic. There is a lot of uncertainty and we don't know what the future holds, but I remain optimistic and hopeful that we will overcome this. Today, I could tell you about the numerous ways that Enrich is adapting as an organisation, but at this time, I want to speak directly to our participants - our migrant domestic workers.
Behind closed doors, domestic workers are caring for families in quarantine, for children, the elderly or the sick, often at high risk to themselves, worrying about their own families at home, and under great financial pressures. I recently spoke to the South China Morning Post about the crucial role they are currently playing in providing care.
To our domestic workers who are reading this, we know the huge contributions that you are making right now. We are here to help and are doing everything we can to ensure that you can access our services. Enrich is providing a number of different activities that you can do from home, with more to come. Follow us on Facebook for more updates (English and Bahasa Indonesia). Together, we will get through this!
Wishing you hope, health and strength,
Lucinda and the Enrich team
