Having completed the 3-month Enrich Financial Mentoring Programme, I began setting clear financial goals for myself. These included saving enough for retirement, purchasing my dream house, and starting a small grocery store in the Philippines. I quickly realised the need to change my spending habits, define savings targets, create a weekly budget, and avoid loans and debts to achieve these goals.

Originally from Baguio City, I spent a decade in Hong Kong before relocating to Canada. I lived a carefree life for three years in Hong Kong until I received an advice to learn about investment from someone. Through the Enrich mentoring program, I discovered my interest in investing, particularly in mutual funds. Having a knowledgeable mentor has been instrumental in my learning journey.

One of the most valuable things I learned from my mentor, Sir Davin, at the programme was that it’s never too late to start managing finances. What matters most is to save consistently.

One of my favourite quotes by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, the author of The Little Prince, is “A goal without a plan is just a wish,” and this quote perfectly captures my 12 weeks of learning through Enrich's Financial Mentoring Programme.
