Before Enrich, I had debts from loans. This is a big problem for domestic workers. I attended Enrich workshops because I wanted to get rid of my debts. My boss told me Enrich could help me to repay all my debts that I had in the Philippines. The first workshop I went to, “Money Wise Migrants”, taught me a lot. From then on, I continued to attend other Enrich workshops, because I wanted to learn more about money budgeting. Before it was a lot of problems, because when you say no [to family], they say you don’t like to share your blessings.
I told my family that the money is not free, and it’s not only for today - you need to think for the future also, because I’m not working here forever.
My experience with my mentor was awesome. I would meet with my mentor every month and set personal goals. This would stop myself from buying things on impulse. Enrich has helped me a lot, not only financially but also emotionally. My mentor knows everything about me, and it feels good to have someone to listen to your problems.
